SLK “Lentera Care” Initiative Raises Record Funds for Local Literacy Programs
JAKARTA, March 10, 2026 — Demonstrating its core value of “servant leadership,” the student body of Sekolah Lentera Kasih (SLK) successfully concluded its annual Lentera Care charity drive. This year, the initiative raised over IDR 250 million, which will be dedicated to building three new community libraries and funding literacy workshops for underprivileged children in the Greater Jakarta area.
The campaign was entirely student-led, involving bake sales, a charity fun run, and a digital art auction. This hands-on approach allows students to apply their business and creative skills to real-world social issues.
“At SLK, we believe that a bright mind is most effective when guided by a compassionate heart,” says the Student Council President. “The Lentera Care project allows us to step outside our campus and be the ‘light’ we are taught to be.”
The school invites community members and partners to join the official library ribbon-cutting ceremonies scheduled for late April.
